Store Mosse - National Park
Store Mosse is Sweden’s largest untouched wet land south of Lappland. The park is home to a variety of plants and birds that are commonly found only in the northern parts of Sweden. Situated in the park is the famous bird lake, Kävsjön. The history of the national park started with a great prehistoric ice lake, Fornbolmen. This lake covered the greater part of western Småland. The remains of wide spread lake today is Store Mosse and lake Bolmen. Inside the park you can find great bird watching towers, Naturum, different hiking trails, also trails that are adapted for wheelchairs. The latest activity in the park is a snow shoe hiking, were you leave the sturdy tracks and head straight out in to the wet lands (book thru Naturum)! If you wish to spend the night there is a variety of accommodations, such as overnight cabins in Svänö and Lövö or you can stay in the Kittlakull hostel.
